ABOUT GABY   Gaby Ray’s story is clear proof that we can all achieve our dreams when we set our minds to it.  One of the most comforting experiences occurs when one dedicates themself to a trade or profession that puts us in tune with who we are. It is an experience in creativity through perseverance and humility. The experience is almost Divine. But finding that passion is not always easy. Gaby graduated with a degree in Industrial Engineering, wanting to full a place in society that forces you into a box, telling you that the more similar you are to everyone else, the better you are.  To her advantage, Gaby's parents were creative beings. They built wooden objects and furniture to sell and to use. At home, there was always someone with very busy hands. "Creativity haunted me my whole life," says Gaby. But society insisted on fitting her into a mold. Fear kept her from revealing certain treasures that only time could reveal. In 2008, when we were all in crisis due to the collapse of the world economy, she decided to start making necklaces to sell among her acquaintances.  From that day on, when she started selling necklaces to some of her close friends, Gaby discovered that she could create something with her own hands that was interesting to others.  When she saw herself connected with strangers through creativity, Gaby’s fears dissipated. When she turned inward and let her creativity shine, her desire to create fuelled new ideas.  Today, Gaby Ray is constantly evolving. Every creative spark lit in her workshop is due to curiosity, constant work, the collaboration of her loved ones, and her courage to keep the creative light on.  Gaby wanted to not only create beautiful rings, necklaces, and earrings but also to connect with people, no matter where they are. She wanted to help people feel good about who they are, feel good in their skin, and use their self-expression to present the best versions of themselves to the world.

  

 

La historia de Gaby Ray es la prueba más clara de que todos podemos alcanzar nuestros sueños cuando nos lo proponemos. Dedicarse a un oficio o profesión que nos haga vibrar y nos ponga en sintonía con quien somos, desde lo creativo, desde la constancia y la humildad, es una de las experiencias más reconfortantes y podría decirse que cercanas a lo Divino. Pero encontrarlo no siempre es fácil. Gaby se graduó de Ingeniera Industrial, queriendo llenar un lugar en la sociedad, esa que de manera cuadrada te impone que mientras más parecida seas al resto, mejor es. Para su ventaja, los padres de Gaby eran seres creativos. Construían objetos y muebles de madera para su propio uso y para venderlos, en casa siempre había alguien con las manos muy ocupadas.  “La creatividad me rondó toda la vida”, dice Gaby, pero desde afuera la sociedad se empeñaba en crear un molde y desde adentro los miedos no dejaban revelar ciertos tesoros que solo el tiempo podía hacer ver. En el 2008, cuando todos estábamos en crisis por el desplome de la economía mundial, decidió comenzar a hacer prendas para vender entre sus conocidas.  Y poco a poco de pasar a vender algunos collares a amigas cercanas, Gaby descubrió que con sus propias manos podía crear algo, que desde su óptica, interesaba a otras personas. El verse conectada desde su creatividad con personas totalmente desconocidas para ella, logró que sus miedos se disiparan y comenzó a orientar sus ideas, esas ganas de crear, que siempre estuvieron allí, esas que necesitaban que el reflector volteara hacia adentro y dejara brillar la creatividad que se había estado gestando durante tanto tiempo. Hoy, como todo, en constante evolución, cada chispa creativa se enciende desde su taller gracias a la curiosidad, el trabajo constante, la colaboración de sus seres queridos y el valor de mantener esa luz siempre encendida. Para no solo crear collares, aretes, anillos… si no para conectar con personas, que sin importar donde sea que se encuentren quieren sentirse bien con lo que son, con personas que se sienten bien en su piel, respetan sus versiones y usan ciertos atavíos para demostrarlo al mundo.
